I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
